Remains found and identified: 28 October 2010. He was interred in Arlington on 10 July 2011.
At the time of his loss, Richard Elzinga was flying with the Raven (Steve Canyon Program) organization in Laos.
According to the pownetwork, he and Hank Allen took off in his O-1G. After reporting that he was airborne, he and Elzinga were never hearf from again.He took off and reported over the radio... that the O-1 was airborne. The official point of loss was noted as 20 miles northeast of Vientiane, Laos.
