Last Known Activity:

Sgt. Gust Sharlow was a Native American of the Ojibwa Nation, Lac Courte Oreilles, Lake Superior Band of Chippewa/Ojibwa.

Gust had prior service with the U.S. Army. He enlisted in the Air Force on 22 November 1965.

In the Air Force, he served with the 1973rd Communications Squadron, 1974th Communications Group at Udorn RTAFB, Thailand.

He was killed in an undetermined incident and cause.

Note:  It is possible that he was interred near his father, a veteran of WWI, on the St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission Cemetery, Lac Courte Oreilles Indian Reservation, Reserve Village, Sawyer County, Wisconsin.  However, there is a reference to interment in Holy Family Cemetery, Cloquet, Minnesota.
