The Space Shuttle Enterprise Approach & Landing Test program was active at Edwards AFB during my tour there in 1974-1979. The 6510th SPS provided security support for the Enterprise program on many occasions. This was the official test program mission patch. Fred Haise, whose name is on the patch was the flight test commander for SST Enterprise and commanded 5 of the test missions. He was also the lunar module pilot on the aborted Apollo 13 mission.
