Last Known Activity
Lt. Offutt served as an F-100D pilot with the 429th Tactical Fighter Squadron, 6251st Tactical Fighter Wing, 13th Air Force in RVN. His tour began on 16 July 1965.

He was killed during a strafing run at Can Tho on 1 October 1965.  His aircraft went into a vertical dive from which he did not recover.  He was listed as MIA, and his remains were returned in 1997.

He was buried in Cameron Memory Garden Cemetery, Caldwell County, Missouri.
