Last Known Activity
Major Edwin Troxel enlisted in the Air Force in March 1953.  He had attended Boise Junior College and Univerity of Oregon in Eugene prior to his enlistment, graduating in June 1953.  At one point he was an instructor at the University of Hawaii for the ROTC program (1963-4).  He had served in Verona, Italy as a NATO advisor.

In Vietnam, he was on his second tour of duty in Vietnam. He was lost in an air accident while flying a T-28 over Laos. (The T-28 crews did helicopter escort and close ground support for the Royal Laotian army).

His crewmate was Sgt. Walter Capps.

He had received a Distinguished Flying Cross while serving as a helicopter pilot with the 20th Special Operations Squadron ("Green Hornets") in 1969-70.

Major Troxel left a wife and two children at his passing.
