Personal Memories
I was assigned to the 3rd Bomb Wing (TAC) 90th Bomb Squadron. Johnson AB, Japan. As a Navigator/Bombardier, the aircraft really lacked in Navigation and Bombing instruments. Navigation was done by ADF, VOR and SHORAN. TACAN had not been developed and we had no celestial capabilities because of the cockpit design. Our bombing system consisted of SHORAN and the pilots gunsight. However, it was a great airplane from my view point and I would have enjoyed flying it as a pilot.
