While at Randolph AFB going through the B-57 Combat Crew Training Program, I logged 2 hours and 5 minutes in the back seat of a T-33. At the time I was the Navigator on an assigned crew and the pilot was Capt. Arthur Dryden. After we arrived in Japan and was assigned to the 90th Bomb Sqd. Capt. Dryden introduced me to the T-33 Link Trainer used for instrument practice. It wasn't long after that that I started going over to the Link Trainer Building and practicing on my own. By the time I got to Pilot Training I was quite proficient in instrument flying.
