Danny and I were housed in the same barracks and worked the same section in the munitions storage area. He was a cube mate to another friend, Douglas Johnson, also from Minnesota. I arrived in June of 1970 from Davis- Monthan AFB, Tucson, Arizona. Danny and I were both wrestlers in high school. Sometimes we would have imprompto matches in the barracks area just to let off some steam. Some of the senoir NCOs thought we were fighting. Danny and I, and some other airmen were invited to a party in another squadron area on Aug. 19th 1970. I decided not to go and told Danny. He went anyway. Maybe if I had been more persistant or had gone with him he'd still be with us. I didn't get to know him that well in such a short time. He was well liked and did his job, easy going. I was surprised and shocked when I found out it was Danny that they found the morning of the 20th of August !970.
