Last Known Activity 1st Lt. Barnes flew in Korea with the 522nd Fighter Escort Squadron.
He bailed out of his F-84E (#49-2384) after it was hit by enemy anti-aircraft fire near Kumwha, North Korea.
He was reportedly taken prisoner and died 2 months after being captured.
