Captain Dixon was the pilot of a B-26B (#44-34337) Invader bomber, "Vivian Girl" on a night intruder mission, contact with the aircraft was lost near Singye, North Korea.

He and his crew were listed as Missing in Action, Presumed Dead.

SAR efforts were hampered by bad weather, although the wreckage was spotted.
