Last Known Activity
His B-24M and its entire crew went down, probably due to  enemy flak, over Vienna, Austria and were not seen again. His remains were somehow later recovered, as he is buried in the US.
His enlistment year is approximate.
His older brother, 2nd Lt Conrad F. Bentzlin, a P-38 pilot, was lost at sea in 1943.
