Last Known Activity

He was the pilot of an RF-4C that was shot down by a SAM near Kep, North Vietnam on Aug 19, 1972.
He was killed; but his WSO, Maj. Tamotsu Shingaki, survived and became a POW.
His remains were recovered and identified in 1987.
It is possible that he was posthumously promoted to major; but no verification can be found.
