Last Known Activity Major Lovelace flew a B-57B out of Tan Son Nhut with the 8th Bomb Squadron/13th Bomb Squadron, 34th Tactical Group, 405th Fighter Wing, 13th Air Force. The Canberas were also stationed at Clark AB, and flown rotationally out of Bien Hoa/Tan Son Nhut.
He was lost with his navigator, Major William Cordero, on a night flare mission (pathfinder) over North Vietnam aboard B-57B (#53-3910). Aircraft went down in Laos.
