LTC Wayne D. Morgan was assigned to Headquarters Seventh Air Force at Tan Son Nhut Air Base, Republic of South Vietnam. On Sunday December 21, 1969 he suffered a Fatal heart Attack .

When Wayne D. Morgan was born on September 17, 1920, in Aurora, Utah, his father, Ira, was 30 and his mother, Lula, was 30. He married Beverly Jean Smith on August 7, 1945. He then married Edna Astill and they had four sons and one daughter together. He died on December 21, 1969, in Vietnam, at the age of 49, and was buried in Delta, Utah.
Flew P-38 Lightning with 9th Air Force In England c. 1944, Belgium c. 1945. Remained with USAF, until Vietnam when promoted to Lt Col, flying B-52s. Died in Vietnam war, 1969. 'My Dad (Wayne D Morgan, Lt) was a P-38 pilot (9th AF) in England, 1944 (US Army Air Corp). He stayed with the USAF (up to B-52s!) until we lost him in Vietnam (as Lt Col), 1969.'
