Last Known Activity
He and his pilot, Capt Clifford W. Fieszel, were flying a "Wild Weasel" F-105F (#63-8317) on a combat mission against SAM sites west of Dong Hoi, North Vietnam. Approximately 50 miles north of the DMZ near Quang Khe their aircraft was shot down by enemy fire. 
They were heard on the ground, but SAR efforts were not successful.
