Last Known Activity
Lt Cowen was shot down near Hohenhorst around the Steinhuder Lake area.  Flying P-51D (#44-144538) aganist several FW-190s. He and 1st Lt Alviin Lee Deeds flying P-51D (#44-14727) were credited with one victory each before being shot down over Hohnhorst, Celle, Niedersachsen, Germany.
