This is a group photo of the 15th Security Police Military Working Dog (MWD) Section, based on Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. The photo was taken in front of the former WWII 'Battery Clauson' on the grounds of the MWD Section (where the building depicted). The battery features many rooms and corridors, and is therefore used for training and certifying each assigned Military Working Dog. Depicted in this photo are MSgt Robert S. Yee, NCOIC, MWD Section; SSgt Kerry L. Meade, MWD Trainer; SSgt Edward L. Briskey Jr., (with explosives detector dog "Joe", #036C); Sgt Robert L. Wiley; SrA Christopher Batta (with "Argos" #B104); A1C Scott E. Gardner (with "Sampson" #C150); A1C Anthony S. Hesford (with "Czar" #D148); A1C Robert W. Wright Jr., (with "George", #SSDe); and A1C John W. Jones. The role of the Military Working Dog Section was to support law enforcement and weapon system security operations on Hickam AFB, and its tenant units. This included an active drug suppression program, explosive detector dog support and protection for the steady flow of high-level visiting dignitaries and U.S. Government officials. Special searches at Pearl Harbor, Kaneohe Marine Corps Station and other military installations contributed to the 1,414 man-hours expended with 51 finds, among which 31 were on USAF installations.
