Sep 1st, 1944 - 17th Combat Mission: Strafing Mission in Debrezen, Hungray (Hours: 4:40) Per Lt. Anderson's Note Book and Pilot Flight Log: Strafed - Hit 2 planes, one six engine (ME323) and 3 trains. Memo: Strafing, first fired on nearest ship then saw big six engine job (ME323) and burned it. After pulling over field saw big locomotive and fired, then along whole train from front to rear, followed tracks to third and hit it. Started for home and picked up Tyson and flew home together. Sep 3rd, 1944: Letter from Sheldon to his parents, dated Sept. 3rd, 1944. Sheldon wrote about his parents "Silver Wedding Anniversary", he wants the war to be over, would rather be at home, mentioned destroying a six engine ME-323 that will never fly again for Hitler.
