Last Known Activity:

He was a gifted and very well-known college athlete before joining the USAAF. He was killed on a training flight when his aircraft's engine quit and he parachuted into Lake Huron but he didn't release his chute before he hit the water and he got tangled in the shroud lines and drowned.
