Worst Moment
The worst thing I can remember about this assignment was I had everything on my TDY orders that I was being sent to Guam except for an unusual number. When I got to Guam and started to process in they said I was suppose to go to U-tapio Thailand. Well when I got to Thailand and almost got processed into U-tapio they stopped me and said I was suppose to be at Takhli AB Thailand. Took me eight days to get to my TDY base. My family had no idea where I was.
Other Memories
Actually my permanent Base was Blytheville Arkansas and I was sent TDY to Takhli AB Thailand and assigned to the 11th Air Refueling Squadron outof Altus AFB Oklahoma.
If anyone knew anything about Thailand during the Vietnam War was that to get an R & R they came to Thailand. At that time Thailand the place every single airman wanted to go.

Attention the Areospace Ground Equipment tech school. Â AFSC has changed several times and cross trained to another career field in 1977.Â
Best Friends
As you grow older so does your memory. I can remember faces but not names. I never had time to really get close to anyone. Six weeks and I never saw anyone again. I was the only one to go on to technical training in the career field they put me in.
Best Moment
I think the most amazing moment I had was I did the obstacle course right after we got there and just barely made it. Then we care back and did it five weeks later and it was so easy. In five weeks our bodies were in great condition.
Worst Moment
Got too hot one day and passed out in the chow line. As I was coming around I could here a training instructor (TI). yelling at me. Temperatures in June and July were running well into the upper 90â??s.
