Humorous Story #1: One night while servicing the water injection tank, a rather large mistake was made. I was on the ground helping the truck driver set up and filling out the paperwork. Flashlight in hand, my partner jumped onto the wing and proceeded to walk up to the top of the fuselage. He lowered a rope down, I tied the nozzle on and he pulled the hose up. He opened the water injection recepticle cap and began servicing the tank. I don't remember how much time had passed but something didn't feel right. My partner had inadvertantly opened the forward body fuel tank cap. The caps are about 18" apart but clearly marked. The water injection tank holds about 1,000 gallons and we had just pumped a few hundred gallons of water into the forward body fuel tank. I can't begin to describe the sheer panic and terror that followed. We reported the mistake and the aircraft spent a few days in the hanger as they drained and vented the tank. We felt terrible. My partner lost a stripe and was devastated.
