USAAF Discharge Certificate
7 of 49
from  1945-1946, AAF MOS 081, 12th Emergency Rescue Boat Squadron  album
I know, looks like a U.S. Army Discharge Certificate but it was also used to represent Army Air Force personnel. Note the A.C. next to the Majors name at the bottom. Means: Air Corps I was discharged at Camp Atterbury, an Army Base. Just happened to be the base used for discharges for personnel in the general area of IN where I was from. The USAAF was part of the Army until September 1947. But I always considered myself Air Force. On the reverse of this document is my other discharge document, (similar to the DD-214)...that reflects 'AC'.
