Chain of Command I was Air intelligence NCOIC. Briefed Squadron Commander, his staff and air crews of enemy situation and activity relative to unit's mission. Managed construction of EWO (Emergency War Order) and contingency sortie crew materials and Combat Mission Folders. Trained air crews in fighter aircraft recognition and escape and evasion. Debrief aircrews on simulated or actual combat missions. Maintained and issued crew mission kits (goggles, maps, S&W 38's, ammo, pointee-talkees, coins, watches (barter), water and other escape & evasion tools).
Other Memories Fortunately no combat missions flown against Soviet Union or China (primary targets), however, combat missions were flown in SEA from Kadena, Okinawa during Linebacker II.
