Memories For This Unit

Best Friends
Kern Kelso, Ron Copeland, Jim Miranda....

(There's more, but I'll add them when I have some more time...)

Best Moment
Next to Landing (and getting out and walking around a bit of the air field at Roswell AFB, NM and other adventures...), I'd have to sayGetting to play with computers and the base network!

Worst Moment
Getting orders to an unknown "Top Secret" destination when Desert Storm kicked-off.

Chain of Command
Most of my tour was spent at Detachment 1 (Mobile Comm). of the Communications Group. At first, it(March AFB) was a Strategic Air Command base and we supported B-52 Bombers, KC-10s and other Tankers. During my time there, SAC went away and we became part of the new Air Mobility Command (AMC) and our mission changed a bit - No more B-52s, but we still supported Tankers and now more Cargo Planes (C-5s, C-141s, C-130s, etc.) and the C-17 was just starting to come online.

Other Memories
Riding on KC-135 (Flying Giant Gas Tanks) while being piloted by those crazy Air National Gaurd Generals!
