Major Walker was the pilot of a UC-123B which was sent on a defoliation mission on 31 January 1967. The aircraft had leveled off and started spraying when it suddenly inverted and crashed. Further investigation revealed that hostile fire struck the propeller causing the crash. The crash occurred about 5 miles south-southwest of Sepone in Savannakhet Province, Laos.
This Veteran has an (IMO) In Memory Of Headstone in Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, Hawaii and in Oregon Vietnam Veterans Living Memorial - Portland, Oregon.also in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Mount Angel, Marion County, Oregon.

In August 26, 1992, a joint U.S./Lao team surveyed the aircraft's reported crash site. Witnesses and wreckage appeared to correlate the site to this loss incident but there were no remains or personal effects discovered. One witness reported having seen burned bone fragments on the scene but none were found during the joint team's visit.
