George Was Commander of his local American Lefion Post, Disabled American Veterans Post and was serving as a Veterans Affairs Service Officer at a nearby Military Hospital, and running a successful cattle ranch to boot.
He had a wife, Anita, and several kids and grandkids.
George succumed to throat cancer at about 64 years of age, when the Lord called him home in April of 2008.
The strongest hand shake, was as sincere the first time as it was the last.
Other Comments:
Geroge served on B-52D ground crews at Ellsworth AFB, SD with me, pulled alert cycles with me, etc. He was among those first deployed to Guam to support Arc Light Missions into S. Vietnam, flew several of the as an additional crewmember.
I never knew him not to be a gentelman.
A friend from first meet to the very last days, I'll always be thankful for knowing him.
