Last Known Activity:

This Remembrance is based upon and credited to research done by USMF member "skir" (user name) who collected a grouping named to this officer which may be seen at this link:

forums/index.php

"Here is a small group of items from Lt. Floyd Patterson, A20 pilot killed in a Training flight at Myrtle Beach SC in Nov.1944. The items are the effects of Lt. Patterson sent to his Mother after his death. Family was told that the wing came off in flight resulting in death of all onboard. Items are few but the flight record has tons of interesting info. Lt. Patterson started flying B25s but was selected to A20 attack Bomber Training. Other items include Gold Star wings sent By Members of his Sqdn. to his mother, Picture of Lt. Patterson's aircraft that he was to fly to Italy (he was killed days before Sqdn was to deploy), His pilot wings/Lt bar/calling card and flight crusher hat. Also in the group is his Mothers NAAFW wing (she became a member after her sons death). The group had his full sz wings and Dog tags ,both recovered from the crash, but these items were buried with His Mother at her request. Of all the items of My collection, this grouping is the one I am most attached to. Here are the pics.
First are the Gold Star wings sent to Lt. Pattersons Mother from his fellow Pilots."
