The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to stand for WW II Army Air Corp. Veteran Burl Pyle.

 

Mr.. Pyle served from 1942 – 1946 in the Army Air Corp. as a B-29 Flight Officer.

 

We have been asked to Stand a flag line at the cemetery only. 

 

Services: Wed. June 2, 2010 at 10:00am First Baptist church in Elmore City, OK. under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home in Elmore City.

 

Interment: Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Wynnewood, OK

 

Staging: 9:00am at the store at the corner of Hwy 29 & Hwy 77, Wynnewood, OK.

 

Briefing: 9:20am

 

KSU: 9:30am to head to the cemetery and set flags for the flag line.

 

Weather: Partly cloudy with lows in the mid 70’s and high in the mid 90’s

 

Direction’s to staging area:

From I35 take exit 66 onto Hwy29, travel east about one mile the road will dead end at Hwy 77, the staging area will be on your right.

Burl Brown Pyle

Burl Brown Pyle of Elmore City, Oklahoma was born to Elbert and Della (Simmons) Pyle on August 11, 1921 in Elmore City, Oklahoma and passed from this life on May 28, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years.

Burl grew up and attended school at Brady and Elmore City, graduating in 1939. He then served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a flight engineer of a B29 squadron during World War II. After serving in the military, Burl returned to Elmore City.

In 1948 he married Maurice Ashley in Gainsville, Texas. Together they made their home in Elmore City.

Mr. Pyle worked for Sohio Oil starting as a mechanic and operator and retired in 1982 as the Plant Manager of the Eola Gas Plant. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. The highlights of his life were his family and friends.

Mr. Pyle is survived by his son: Biff Pyle and his wife Wenonah of Elmore City, Oklahoma; 2 sisters: Lenora Daniel of Haltom City, Texas, and Helen Burris of Smithville, Kansas; 2 granddaughters: Leah Myers and her husband Andy of Irving, Texas, and Sarah Casey and her husband Shawn of Elmore City, Oklahoma; and 1 great-grandchild: Tyler Casey.

Mr. Pyle was preceded in death by his wife: Maurice Pyle; his parents: Elbert and Della Pyle; 2 brothers: Billy Joe Pyle and Samuel Pyle; and 1 sister: Madaline Davis.

Funeral services for Mr. Pyle are scheduled for Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Elmore City First Baptist Church with Rev. David Flick and Dr. Bruce McCray officiating.

Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma under the direction of Wooster Funeral Home. You may send a condolence to the family at www.woosterfuneralhomes.com.
