HOEKSEMA, Lt. Col. Peter Paul Hoeksema, USAF, ret., 64, of Dover, NH died peacefully at his home on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, surrounded by his family. His family lives at 14 Back River Rd., Dover, NH 03820. There was no word on memorial contributions
Peter Paul Hoeksema, 64, of Dover died peacefully at his home on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 11, 1940, in Harvey, Ill., the son of Peter and Bernice (Rehberg) Hoeksema. His mother Bernice resides in Dover.
He married Karen J. Murphy on Nov. 19, 1966, who survives in the family home.
He obtained his private pilot's license at the age of 17. He attended technical college, then entered the U.S. Air Force in 1960. He served as a B-52 and FB-111 radar navigator. He flew more than 100 missions over Vietnam in the B-52. He served for two years as head of the KC-135 and FB-111 flight simulators at Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1980.
