(Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: Captain William R. Beyer, United States Army Air Forces, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry in action against the enemy while serving with the EIGHTH Air Force in the European Theater of Operations during World War II.

Other Memories During his time with the 376th FS, it operated from RAF Little Walden, Essex, England; St-Dizier Airfield, France; and Chièvres Airdrome, Belgium. He was promoted to captain in Nov. 1944 while at RAF Little Walden.
