Last Known Activity:

Even though the National Archives have records showing he was a POW, he was not. He was the bombardier on a B-24J that was shot down Nov 16, 1944 while bombing Japanese warships near Borneo. He and 6 other surviving crewmen were sheltered by friendly natives on Borneo for 7 months, thus avoiding capture by the enemy.
