1st Lt. Gerald Stull enlisted on 12 May 1955 from Beaumont, Texas..
He served with 327th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, Truax AFB, Wisconsin. He was previously stationed at Kinross AFB, Michigan.
He was awarded the DFC posthumously for heroism when he flew his severely damaged F-102A-75-CO Delta Dagger, (#56-1348) away from a densely populated area and into Lake Monona, Madison, Wisconsin.
Due to his efforts to avoid crashing into a populated area, he was unable to make a safe ejection. He directed his aircraft toward the Lake Moona area. His chute was deployed as he had tried to eject at this point, however he was far too low..
He left a wife and infant son at his death.
A monument was erected in his honor at Hudson Park, Madison, Wisconsin in 2009.
