I retired from civil service as a GS-15 in August 2012. I worked from December 2012 to May 2013 for Booz Allen Hamilton as a strategic communications associate, working on a federal contract supporting TRICARE and the Defense Health Agency. I decided to take my final retirement in May 2013. Since that time, I have been playing drums in a classic rock band, riding and restoring motorcycles, taking photos, collecting and building scale model aircraft, shooting my guns, and enjoying life!
Best Friends I went through CCTS withfolks all heading to the same unit as me at Barksdale. The pilot Maj. McDonald, was requalifying in the B-52 after being out of the aircraft for awhile. The co-pilot1 Lt. Sam Dick, and the gunner was SSgt. David Donnato. I don't remember who was on the nav team.
Other Memories I got seven sorties in the B-52G to get qualified in the aircraft. The first flight in the aircraft was a "live fire out" for the gunner, where he actually got to fire the four .50 cal machine guns in the tail turret. The fourth flight included a fighter intercept exercise for the gunner and I to work together against F-106s from the 84th FIW at Castle.
