I had a great career and worked for some wonderful supervisors. My greatest satisfaction was working as a First Sergeant and helping the troops. I almost wish I could relive those days again. The Air Force has moved on with changes that this old dinosaur wouldn't be able to make. I do not believe that they are all for the good. Doesn't matter though, every thirty years things change back to what they used to be. Don't believe me? Watch.

Best Moment Was notified while at Cannon AFB, NM by SSgt Zygmunt F. (Ziggy) Balcezak, from Lockbourne AFB, OH that I was to be promoted to A1C effective 1 February 1966. The orderly room confirmed the promotion and I shipped over as A1C.
Worst Moment The night I was on guard duty and started to draw down on an Air Police patrol walking through the brush. A1C Billy Stow turned on his flashlight and shouted "don't shoot"

Other Memories Best Civil Engineer unit I ever served in. Lived in tent D-16, then moved to tent C-13. Extended my tour by 2 weeks to reenlist in-country. The base psychiatrist, Captain Greenbaum, administered the oath on 13 February 1967. I flew out to Ton Son Nhut that afternoon and home on 14 February.
