Other Memories 1. At the time of my attendance the school was listed as Eastern Washington State College and we were the Savages, not the Eagles. 2. ICNE (Intercollegiate Center for Nursing Education) was a new concept and fledging program that consisted of four schools, i.e. Washington State University, Eastern Washington State College, Whitworth (a private Presbyterian college) and Fort George Wright ( a private Catholic, predominately Catholic girls college). My class, the class of 75 was the third class to graduate from the program. Today it is the Nursing Program administered by Washington State University and Eastern Washington University. It was a tough program to get into,a 3.0 GPA was required for consideration, but with the number of applicants you had to have a 3.5 GPA. Wash out rate was about 35%.
