Then Captain Clifford Wayne Fieszel served atTakhli RTAFB, Thailand. His tour began on 23 May 1968. He was the pilot with Major Howard H. Smith (EWO) flying a "Wild Weasel" F-105F (#63-8317) on a combat mission against SAM sites west of Dong Hoi, North Vietnam. Approximately 50 miles north of the DMZ near Quang Khe their aircraft was shot down by enemy fire. They were heard on the ground, but SAR efforts were not successful and they remain missing in action (MIA).

This Veteran has an (IMO) In Memory Of Headstone in Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, Hawaii with another memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
