Last Known Activity
TSgt. Matthew Schwartz served with the 90th Civil Engineer Squadron, based out of F.E Warren AFB, Wyoming and stationed in Afghanistan. He was an explosive ordnance disposal specialist.

Arriving in Afghanistan in October 2011, he began his 6th deployment, having also served in Iraq.

On 5 January 2012, he was one of three men killed in Shir ghazi, Helmand province, Afghanistan when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device.
