Last Known Activity
SSgt. Merle Edward Estes served with the 310th Air Commando Squadron, 315th Air Commando Group, 13th Air Force, Nha Trang AB, RVN. He had been previously trained at Hurlburt Field #9 prior to Vietnam.

He was a crew member aboard a C-123B (# 56-4379) that  crashed while attemping a resupply drop in marginal weather south of Pleiku (8 miles south of Holloway Field)  on 11 June 1965:
