He was killed when an enemy rocket struck his barracks. He came to the US in 1960. Had 8 years of service and joined in Jan 1961.  He became a citizen in 1966 in Nevada (probably stationed at Nellis AFB). His Dad. Benjamin Thomas Walangitang, was a major in the Dutch Indonesia military and were POW's during WWII of the Japanese.  His Dad was one of 5620 Dutch, English, American, Javanese, & Indonesia POW's who died on the Junyo Maru which was sunk in 1944.  There is a photo of his Dad in the Photo Gallery.
