Captain Causey was lost while flying in an EB-66C (# 54-0457) on an ELINT/ECM harassment mission. The aircraft was brought down by an SA-2, ten miles northwest of Vinh, North Vietnam. Most of the crew was rescued by the aircraft-carrier USS Ranger (CVA 61) with the exception of Captain Causey who remains MIA.Â
