TSgt. THOMAS BARWICK, USA, WWII Veteran

Two part mission 08-09 July 2010

 

 

The PGR has received a request by the family to stand in honor of Tech Sgt. THOMAS E. BARWICK, US Army Air Corp veteran of WWII who passed on 01 July 2010.

Sgt. Barwick served in the Army from 1943 to 1946.  He flew L-5s evacuating the wounded off the battlefields on the Island of Okinawa.

This will be a two part mission: 

MISSION DETAILS – PART ONE

MEMORIAL SERVICE & ESCORT

DATE:     Thursday, 08 July 2010                                              

STAGE:     0945 hrs (9:45am)

LOCATION:     Gold Harvest Market (Valero station)

                         4021 Mother Lode Dr.

                          Placerville, CA 95682

KSU:     1000 hrs (10:00am) to Church (2 miles):

                          Bible Baptist Church

                          5391 Mother Lode Drive

BRIEF:   1010 hrs (10:00am)

FLAGLINE:     1030 hrs (10:30am)

                         We will establish a flag line prior to the service and again at the conclusion of the service.

SERVICES:     1100 hrs (11:00am) (approx. 1 hour

ESCORT:     After the service we will escort Tech. Sgt. Barwick and family to his home (approximately 9 miles) where we will establish a flag line during a flyover of two or three WWII vintage aircraft and the playing of reveille and taps after which the PGR will be dismissed.

We will brief at the church parking lot and await the family.  Upon their arrival we will form the procession and begin the escort from that location.

KSU:     1245 – 1300 hrs

SVNC SERVICE:     1430 hrs (2.30pm) Flag line, dismissal approx. 1450.
