Then 1st Lt. Patrick Carroll served as a "Misty" Fast FAC pilot, flying the F-100F out of Tuy Hoa AB, RVN. On Sunday, 2 November 1969, he was lost with Lt. Col. Larry Whitford on a mission over Laos. Col. Whitford served as pilot and Lt. Carroll served as the FAC for this mission. Their call sign for the mission was "Misty 136" (flying aboard a 2-seater F-100F "Hun"). Their remains have not been found.
This Veteran has an (IMO) In Memory Of Headstone in Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, Hawaii with another memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

Received basic pilot training at Williams AFB, Mesa, Arizona (1967-68). Advanced pilot training at Luke AFB, Glendale, Arizona with the F-100 (1968-1969). Survival training in the Philippines prior to duty in April 1969 at Tuy Hoa AB, RVN.
