Last Known Activity:

He was a distinguished WWI combat pilot who was killed when his Consolidated PB-2A, aka P-30, crashed during an air show celebrating the 20th anniversary of Langley Field. His observer, Sgt John Johnston, was thrown out of the aircraft and survived.
The former Waller Army Airfield, later AFB, Trinidad, Trinidad and Tobago, was named for him.
