Retired from Cherokee County Sheriff's Office in Rusk, Texas 07-31-18. A new adventure in my life now starts. Have not been without a job since I was 14yoa. Glad I made a full 35 years as an LEO.
Best Moment The 1st base pass & going to the bx with buddies/we were housed in the old barracks about 2 or 3 blocks from the mess hall. The new ones were being occupied I think but not sure. Everything we did was in the older part of the base.
Worst Moment 1st morning in boot camp being in the bottom bunk & having the whole thing turned over by the drill instructor when we did not jump up fast enough. The other worst moment was being assigned to clean the headquarters building near the front gate. The women's restroom was trashed it seemed by those using it at that time. Kotex stuck on the wall & mess on the toilet. The Colonel that was one of the big wigs at the headquarters building told us to leave it alone & he would be sure the next morning that the WAFS & civiilian females would clean it themselves.
