Eugene Myers entered the Army on 15 May 1942 at Cleveland, Ohio and served in the Army Air Corps in the ETO.

He had attended Ohio State University from 1935-1939, was captain of the baseball team. He  played Minor League baseball with the Chicago White Sox farm team in 1939.  He was named to the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame Class of 1976.

He retired from Cleveland Paper Company in 1985, and had previously worked at General Motors (Brown-Lipe-Chapin) in Elyria, Ohio.

He was interred in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio with full military honors by the FVW Post 1079. His wife preceded him in death.

From April of 1942 to August of 1945 Eugene served with the Army-Air Force in the Middle East, North Africa, sicily and Italy.
