MSgt. Nelson Brown served as a flight engineer with the 371st Bombardment Squadron, 307th Bombardment Wing based at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa.
On 13 September, 1952, he was aboard a B-29A (#44-863443) making a bomb run on the Suiho Hydroelectric Plant, his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire. He was listed as Missing in Action and was presumed dead on February 28, 1954.
His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
Master Sergeant Brown was awarded the Air Medal, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
