Attached to 3rd Bmb Wg (L). Conducted bombing mission against the rail yards at Munsan, 20 mi N of Seoul, flight instrument malfunction while returning to base, crashed into Yellow Sea near Chin-do.

Staff Sergeant Campos was the tail gunner on a B-26B Invader bomber with the 8th Bomber Squadron, 3rd Bomber Group. On June 28, 1950, while on a combat mission, the flight instruments on his aircraft malfunction and the plane crashed into the Yellow Sea. His remains were recovered.
