First Lieutenant Prebbanow was a veteran of World War II. In Korea, he was a pilot of an F-80
"Shooting Star" Fighter with the 41st Fighter Interceptor-Squadron, stationed at Johnson Air Force
Base, Japan. On September 25, 1950, he was killed in a plane crash at Misawa Air Force Base, Japan.
First Lieutenant Prebbanow was awarded the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal,
the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea War
Service Medal, the American Theater Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
