Comments/Citation:
Major Bailey attended Florida State University, dates to be determined, but he was Pi Kappa Phi - Beta Eta Alunmi Chapter 02/18/50, thus likely finished in about 1950 and joined the military.
Major Bailey would have attended O-1E training at Hurlburt Field in Florida, the date yet determined , but since he was boots in country 16 Jan 66, it was likely 1965, as all forward observer pilots were required to attend Survival, Escape & Evasion Training after Hurlburt; then attend the Pacific Air Command Jungle Survival School at Clark Air Base, Phillippines on their way to Viet Nam.
Gravestone reflects he served in WWII, so must have graduated from high school in 1945 and served a short time. The headstone also indicates he received the Silver Star, Air Medal with 5 OLCs and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
