Last Known Activity:



Sgt. Zenga was initially trained in helicopter maintenance.  In December 1968, he volunteer to serve as a helicopter gunner. aboard a UH-1F Huey (# 63-13164) of the 20th Special Operations Squadron, 14th SOW out of Nha Trang,(Call sign: 'Dart'). The mission was to rescue a Special Forces team, but were shot down near Duc Lap. (Note another source states the aircraft was operating from Ban Me Thuot).


Sgt Zenga was pinned under the aircraft and died in the ensuing fire.
